About the author

James Gardner has been a Fulham supporter for over 50 years. He is the author of four books: Sweet Bells Jangled out of Tune, a history of the Sussex Lunatic Asylum (St Francis Hospital, Haywards Heath); The Trail of the Serpent, the true story of the Balcombe Tunnel murder of 1881; The First British Railway Murder and A History of the Brighton Workhouses.
