About the author

Mark Flanagan has been a sports journalist and author for more than 20 years and a rugby league fan since the early 1980s. He was lucky enough to see all the great Ashes Test matches of the 80s and 90s, the heyday for the sport in the modern era. He has worked on a freelance basis for the League Weekly newspaper for the last ten years, and has spent his whole working life in the heartlands of rugby league.
