CHARITY BOOK LAUNCH, WATERSTONES AND PRITCHARDS
Ahead of the release of Crossing the Park: The Men Who Dared to Play for Both Liverpool and Everton, there are three amazing opportunities to meet football historian and author Peter Kenny Jones as he talks us through his second book.
Crossing the Park: The Men Who Dared to Play for Both Liverpool and Everton chronicles the 34 players who have played for both Merseyside clubs and walked the seldom crossed path through Stanley Park. From Andrew Hannah in Liverpool’s first ever game in 1892, up to Conor Coady in today’s Everton side – the history of both clubs is told through the transfers of these unique men.
Rivalries, friendships and the ever-changing face of both local, English and European football is all covered in a 320-page waltz through the history of football. As the Blues look to move to the city centre and away from L4, Coady may well be the final man who crosses the park and ends this tale perfectly.
With a foreword from Rafa Benitez and exclusive interviews with several players, this is their story told in a way that has never been done before.
First, is the charity book launch which is being attended by Steve McMahon and Kevin Sheedy (two men who have played for both Liverpool and Everton) and raising money for Fans Supporting Foodbanks.
The official book launch is on Friday 28th of April 2023 at 7pm in Hotel Anfield and will be hosted by Empire of the Kop’s Farrell Keeling, as well as live music by local musician James Lee-Hindle.
