THE TELEGRAPH SPORTS BOOK AWARDS
THE TELEGRAPH SPORTS BOOK AWARDS
Congratulations go out to the authors of Waiting, The Beautiful Badge and Playing the Game, all nominated for the Telegraph Sports Book Awards 2019.
We received wonderful news this week when Pitch titles by Richard Kelley, Mark Peel and Martyn Routledge & Elspeth Wills were all shortlisted for the prestigious Awards.
Mark's assessment of cricket's tarnished ideals is vying for the title of Cricket Book of the Year, while Richard, Martyn and Elspeth are in the contention for the Best Illustrated Book of 2019, focusing on Formula One's golden age of the 70s and 80s, and the history of football crests.
Our four authors are in excellent sporting company. Chairman of the Sports Book Awards, David Willis said, “We look forward to finding out who the winners of the awards will be on June 4th at Lord’s Cricket Ground. It is a great list of sporting books, which includes Shane Warne, George Best, Sir Chris Hoy, Geraint Thomas, Dame Kelly Holmes, Lionel Messi, Tiger Woods and many others.”
Each of the nine category winners will create one final shortlist for The Telegraph Sports Book of the Year, which will also be announced at the end of the ceremony.
