TRAILBLAZERS LAUNCH AT THE PLAYWRIGHT

To mark the release of Trailblazers: The Groundbreaking History of Nottingham Forest, author Matthew Oldroyd is holding a launch event at the Playwright pub on Shakespeare Street in Nottingham on Monday 27th January.

This venue is steeped in the club's history, previously known as the Clinton Arms, where Forest were formed in 1865.

The evening kicks off at 6.30pm, and will include a talk by the author on the Reds' groundbreaking history, and how the book came together following a four year research period.

A limited number of copies of the book will be available for sale on the night and can be personally signed by the author.

Trailblazers tells the story of the Garibaldi Reds pioneering traditions, which began at the Clinton Arms and has continued throughout the club's 160 years of existence.

The Playwright, as it is now known, will therefore be a fitting venue to host the launch of this fascinating book which is released on the same day.

Matthew is part of the Forza Garibaldi fan group, and also helps chart the club's extraordinary history via the Forest Preservation Society.

In 2019, he was one of the individuals who organised the installation of the plaque on the Playwright building to commemorate the formation of Nottingham Forest in 1865.

Further information will be available on the event closer to the time via the Forest Preservation Society's social media pages on BlueSky, Facebook, Instagram and X.
