CHERRIES MATCH OF MY LIFE LAUNCH – MEET THE LEGENDS

This Thursday at AFC Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium, club legends Tommy Elphick and Steve Fletcher will be mingling with fans and signing copies of Match of My Life along with authors Alex Crook and Pat Symes. (Please see full details below).

In AFC Bournemouth Match of My Life, no less than 23 club legends come together to relive the magical moments from the most memorable matches in the club’s illustrious history.

Featuring a foreword by former Cherries manager Harry Redknapp, the book will bring to life treasured memories for fans of all ages.

Championship-title winning captain Tommy Elphick and record appearance holder Steve Fletcher are among a host of AFC Bournemouth heroes who relive their glory days in the famous Cherry red shirts.

  • Elphick recalls how he cried tears of joy as Eddie Howe’s all-conquering side secured their fairytale promotion to the Premier League only six years after almost going out of business.

  • Fletcher remembers his goal against Grimsby to keep the club in the Football League and rescue them from oblivion and the amazing lengths manager Howe went to in order to entice  him back to Dean Court.

  • Ted MacDougall, arguably the Cherries’ best every player, Manchester United slayer Ian Thompson, former England pair Luther Blissett and Darren Anderton and modern-day icons Harry Arter, Yann Kermorgant and Marc Pugh also share previously unheard accounts in AFC Bournemouth Match of My Life.

  • Popular chairman Jeff Mostyn offers his own unique insight into how he fell in love with the club in a typically tear-jerking foreword, kicking off 192 pages of nostalgia.

This Thursday, come and meet Tommy Elphick and Steve Fletcher, Alex Crook and Pat Symes at the AFC Bournemouth Club Shop, Vitality Stadium, between 3.30pm and 5.30pm.
