JOHN McAVOY'S REDEMPTION - A MEDIA SENSATION

JOHN McAVOY'S REDEMPTION - A MEDIA SENSATION

This week saw the official launch party for Redemption – the true life story of how the former and prolific armed robber John McAvoy found redemption through sport and turned his life around. The book takes the reader on a gripping journey recounting John’s childhood, his early dalliances and interactions with some of the biggest names in the criminal underworld, to his meteoric rise as Britain’s most wanted armed robber, to spending time in Belmarsh High Security prison alongside the convicted 7/7 bombers and the Muslim cleric Abu Hamza.

Written by John McAvoy and Mark Turley, the book recounts the fast-paced and fascinating life story of a former career criminal, now world record holder and endurance athlete. Thanks to everyone who attended the London Rowing Club, and Mike Garnell Photography for the launch photographs.

Redemption has been met with a tide of media acclaim and has hit the coveted number 1 spot in Amazon's Sports Books category. Here is a selection of the hardest-hitting, most entertaining articles, a BBC podcast to download, and a sample chapter from the book:
