Congratulations go out to the authors of the four Pitch titles shortlisted for the 2018 Sports Book Awards.

News of the nominations was announced at the headquarters of Coutts in central London, where Olympic champions Dame Katherine Grainger and Christine Ohuruogu were present in their capacity as judges of the Sports Book Awards.

Nominations for the 16th annual awards include Chris Evans's Fearless Freddie: The Life and Times of Freddie Mills, shortlisted for The Times Biography of the Year along with the stories of Laurie Cunningham, Muhammad Ali and Arnold Palmer. Steve Neal's Over and Out, the biography of Albert Trott, is up against Ashes winners Steve Harmison and Graeme Swann, as well as the legendary cricket journalist Henry 'Blowers' Blofeld, for Heartaches Cricket Book of the Year.

The shortlist for the Thomson Reuters Illustrated Book of the Year features Sarah Juggins and Richard Stainthorpe's The History Makers: How Team GB Stormed to a First Ever Gold in Women's Hockey, while Caught in the Middle by Mike Procter & Lungani Zama is in the running for the Cross International Autobiography of the Year.
