WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE RUGBY WORLD CUP MEMORY?

From 1987, when just 16 teams were invited to take part, to this year’s tournament involving 96 countries, Rugby World Cup Greatest Games charts the growth of one of the biggest success stories in modern sport.

The tournament has thrown up countless memorable matches, introduced us to amazing players and witnessed some incredible scores – from Michael Jones scoring the first World Cup try to the legendary All Blacks regaining the trophy in a titanic struggle with France 24 years later.

But what’s your own personal favourite World Cup memory?

Rob Clark’s Rugby World Cup Greatest Games features all the greatest moments from across the seven tournaments to date, including:

  • Western Samoa twice upsetting the odds against Wales, in 1991 and 1999
  • Ireland beaten at the death by a last-minute Michael Lynagh try
  • The irresistible force that was Jonah Lomu trampling all over the hopes of England in the 1995 semi-final
  • Stunning title-winning drop goals from Joel Stransky and Jonny Wilkinson
  • France scoring an unbelievable 33 unanswered points against New Zealand in the 1999 semi
  • The uniquely exciting brand of rugby played by the Pacific Islands of Fiji, Samoa and Tonga which lifts any tournament

  • The rise of Argentina as a world force, as they twice beat France in 2007 to finish third
