GOT, NOT GOT: NOSTALGIA MANIA HITS NEWCASTLE!

GOT, NOT GOT: NOSTALGIA MANIA HITS NEWCASTLE!

The Lost World of Newcastle United is now officially the biggest football story to hit the city since the Toon hit top spot under King Kev in 1996 – rating not one but 3 (THREE) features in the Newcastle Evening Chronicle.

First came a Lost World article based around the authors’ paean to the Saturday-evening Pink paper. Next came a review from the legendary columnist John Gibson. Then Dave Morton added to the Xmas fever with a whopping double spread of nostalgic images from the book (pictured).

The book recalls a more innocent era of football, lingering longingly over relics from the good old days – revisiting lost football culture, treasures and pleasures that are 100 per cent Newcastle United.

  • "Superb. One of this year's certain Christmas stocking fillers. The book celebrates the bygone era of life before the digital world, reviewing club programmes, VHS videos, Ceefax and Panini Stickers. A book that is sure to be a hit with fans who enjoy a gentle trawl through how life used to be in the world of following the Magpies." --Lee Ryder, Newcastle Evening Chronicle
  •  “TREASURE TROVE OF TOON MEMORABILIA. New Book Uncovers Stunning Array Of Magpies Memorabilia – Dave Morton Takes A Look And Gets All Toon Nostalgic. Will delight fans young and old. Once again, the football nostalgia writers hit the jackpot.” –Dave Morton, Newcastle Evening Chronicle
  •  “With Christmas coming up, all things Newcastle United are thrust to the forefront of Geordie thinking. Well, perhaps a nice big dollop of nostalgia is best given the current state of affairs at our club. That being the case, a lot may fancy Got, Not Got: The Lost World of Newcastle United which is a jaunty journey through the colourful times of the Sixties to Nineties. Significant input from a true Geordie to make a Magpies book authentic. A fantastic collection of NUFC shirts and memorabilia, a lot of great detail." --John Gibson, Newcastle Evening Chronicle
  • "A compilation of anything and everything Toon related that comes into the very loose categoty of Magpie memorabilia. Be it programmes, badges, player cards or records, fans of a certain age will have their memories well and truly jogged. And thanks to the vast collection of NUFC.com reader Gavin Haigh, there's a scattering of iconic matchworn Toon shirts." --NUFC.com
